Gurupeeth, Shree Kshetra Tryanbakeshwar


India is acknowledged as Spiritual Guide to the universe since ancient times. India is known to have 12 Jyotirlingas (Source of Divine Light) out of this Shri Kshetra Trimbakeshwar is Adya (come into existing first). This Jyotirlinga is in the form of "Lord Dattatreya" since it is the one which has three faces (Triambak, meaning the one with three mouths)
Trimbakeshwar is the land of Sage Gautam and Atri, the father of Lord Dattatreya, and where, thanks to the penance of Sage Gautam, the holy river Ganga had to appear as Godavari. Teertharaj Kushawarth, where Lakhs of Hindus take holy dip during every Kumbh Mela once in 12 years, stands testimont to this fact.
Shri Nivruttinath, the elder brother and preceptor of Krishnavatar Shri Dnyaneshwar Mauli, also left his mortal coilhere after rigorous penance. This is the same land which Adiguru Shree Narayandasji Peethale Maharaj, who later founded this Shee Swami Samarth Seva Marg, chose for rigorous penance for no less than 36 years besides his 12 years in the Himalayas. Sadguru Pithale maharaj chose Shri Khanderao Appaji More of village Dindori, an ardent devotee of Lord Rama, as his spiritual successor, to carry forward this Seva Marg.
In 1983, Sadguru More Dada performed a highly reverential worship of Lord Shiva "Atirudra Yagna", that is 14,641 chantings of Rudra Sukta, here, with the participation of ordinary devotees for the benefit of humankind.
Sadguru More Dada desired a Gurupeeth unique central Mega University at Trimbakeshwar which would strive to achieve the vision of strong and self-reliant India as envisioned by Shree Swami Samarth Maharaj.
In 1988, Sadguru More Dada left his mortal coil announce his eldest son, Shri Annasaheb More as His spiritual heir. In a few years, with the help of lakhs of selfless devotees, Parampujya Gurumauli carved out the Gurupeeth in this holy place towards east of trimbakeshwar & near mountain Brahmagiri on spacious 21 acres land. The Gurupeeth is ideal model of Vaastushastra. The Gurupeeth is becoming Spiritual Mega University. For past several years, this Gurupeeth has been organizing several constructive programmes for social upliftment and the common good. The silent features of Gurupeeth are as follow -

Temple of Bhagavan Shri Swami Samarth

A very beautiful idol and main Darabar of Bhagavan Shri Swami Samarth Maharaj with prayer hall, where approximately 10000 Sevekaries (devotees) can participate in mass prayer and rituals, is the attraction of Gurupeeth. The Darabar is constructed with principles of vaastu, Pyramid theory, Astrology. The miraculous and mystic 'Shri Yantram' is installed on the roof of 'Kalash'. Various Yagas (offering to God) such as Sahastra Chandi, Ayut Chandi, Laksha Chandi, Koti Chandi (Very special worship of goddess Shakti) and Ati-Rudra (very special worship of Lord Shiva) are performed here for wellbeing of Humankind. The intention is to prepare for the forthcoming challenges, calamities, etc. through collective services.

Value Education

Special training campaigns for children are held through which efforts are made to develop body, mind & soul of child. Guidance is given on the Vedas, Upanishadas, Puranas, Ramayana, and Mahabharata. Self-employment programmes for those between age 18 to 25 are conducted. The only motive is to develop a confident and vibrant youth.

Mass Marriages

Day by day marriage is taking form of a menace. Dowry, false concepts regarding Respects are creating problems in well to do families also. In order to stress importance of rituals, marriages are performed as per Vedic Method. Gurupeeth has conducted over thousands of marriages of the poor and the rich alike where no dowry and gifts were exchanged. Strong marriage leads to stable society. Ved Studying

This is department of studying Rig-Veda, Yajurveda, Samveda and Atharva Veda in various ways. Special efforts are made to demonstrate and experience the way in which various Mantras can be used to make human life happy and prosperous. 18 Puranas, 108 Upanishadas, 14 Vidyas (ancient knowledge), 64 Kalas (arts) are being rejuvenated in scientific way. This is trying to prove unity of science and spirituality.

Cowshed (Gaushala)

Japan uses censer (Agarbattis) of Panchagavvya which is made of Milk, Curd, Cow urine, Cow Dung, Ghee. Diseases like Cancer and many others can be cured by Cow urine. Hence cow science needs to be promoted for wellbeing of humankind. Special efforts are being made for scientific research. By spending 2 hours daily in Gaushala many dreaded, chronic diseases can be cured. To reaffirm its faith in and gratitude towards the holy cow, Gurupeeth proposes this cowshed, built over 900 sq.m to provide shelter to over 2000 cows, for the present and future generations.


Ayurveda is unparallel gift of India to the world. Various rare Ayurvedic trees are implanted and a lot of scientific research is being done on Ayurvedaat Gurupeeth. Gurupeeth manufactures quality medicines at very affordable prices. The aim is that Man should lead prosperous healthy life, so efforts are made to guide people to live healthy life.

Parampujya Gurumauli has been working hard to remove theapprehensions about these subjects and train the common man into the basics of Vedic Archetecture and astrological sciences so that people can live in harmony with nature. Various workshops are organized at Gurupeeth training sevekaris in Astro, Vastu and related subjects and today, thousands of devotees arewell versed in these knowledge streams and have actually helped quite a few villagers in constructing environment friendly community centres, prayer halls, etc.

Trimbakeshwar is the spiritually significant power centre of Lord Shiva and has been a place for mystic meditation practices by the highest of Sidhha Gurus for thousands of years.
